    „Let us spoil you“

    TRADITION MEETS MODERNITY.

Tradition is very important to us. Coupled with modern influences, we therefore bring our South Tyrolean history with Mediterranean lightness and Alpine spice to your plate: our cook, founder and good soul of the Waldschenke, Mena, conjures up homemade “Schlutzkrapfen” with spinachdumplings in every variations – with herbs from our own garden – and traditional dishes. Chef Thomas takes care of the modern fine-tuning of the dishes and fresh pizzas from the oven. Manuela is responsible for the sweet temptation and homemade cakes.

With all our dishes, we also care about the regionality & seasonality of our products and dishes. Therefore, every season with its precious natural treasures finds its way into our cooking pots.

    MAIN INGREDIENT: “LOVE”

Naturally homemade: With fresh parsley and chives from the in-house herb garden. A herb syrup prepared with love by Manuela and homemade jams for our Sunday brunch. Even the water comes from our own refreshing forest spring.

    SUNDAYS-BRUNCH

What could be better than an extensive brunch with local products and prepared with love?

Every Sunday from 9 am we therefore invite you to a brunch and spoil you with fresh fruit, homemade jams, cheese specialties from the Gsoihof, lamb ham from the Villnösser Brillenschaf and other sweet morning greetings

Enjoy your breakfast with a great view and many delicacies!

    Hiking & enjoying

Whether it is a walk through lush meadows, a hike to the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, nordic walking, a run through the woods or a mountain bike tour: our valley offers innumerable possibilities to feel at home during your vacation. We are the perfect starting point for many hikes:

    Our hiking tips:

The Adolf Munkel Trail, which runs below the imposing north faces of the Odle/Geisler Mountains, is one of the most spectacular trails in the Dolomites. The Adolf Munkel Trail begins at the parking area. First follow Trail No. 6 towards Tschantschenon until you reach the bridge. Turn right there, and then follow signs to Adolf Munkel Weg, No. 35. Follow this trail to Gschnagenhardtalm and Geisleralm. Continue along to Brogles and than back to us.

    Duration: 6 hours

This trail leads from the Waldschenke through beautiful forest landscape. Take the trail 28 to Brogleser Bach and turn left onto trail 34. This leads to the hunting lodge near the Schwarzenbach. Continue on trail 34 to the Nock and follow the same trail, soon 34A to the timber yard. Then take trail 28 back to the starting point. The famous Geisler peaks can be admired throughout the entire route.

Duration 2:30 hours, distance 8.3 km

The panoramic trail connects the two villages of St. Magdalena and St. Peter and is located on the sunny side of the valley. Magnificent panoramas are not only written here, but also fulfilled. You start at our house and hike first up to the church and further to the Blauer Hof. From here, you follow the panorama path in the direction of St. Peter. At the end of the panorama path turn right onto No. 11 and up to the Vikoler Jöchl (also called Pineider Kofel). Return on path no. 5 and via Sunnseitenweg to the Vikoler Bild and back to St. Magdalena. The constant view to the Geisler is simply magnificent!

duration 2:45 hours, distance 9.6 km

From St. Magdalena you walk along the road to Oberhof. Then follow the path marked 32 to the Kofelbach. From there, the path leads along the Bühler side to the junction Kofelwiese and Lutheran Church. Now follow the trail 27 to the cult stone of the Lutheran Church, where, according to tradition, the Anabaptists met to celebrate their worship service. A short descent continues to the Kugelkofel, where you have a magnificent view of St. Magdalena. The descent is now via the Vorpahlbach stream to the Kreuzschnitzler and on to St. Magdalena.

Duration 2:45 hours, distance 7 km

    Mountain bike

A big round with the mountain bike through the mountains and valleys is a must in the Alps. The view of the breathtaking mountains accompanies you the whole way.

You can start your tour at any time directly from our Waldschenke and of course you have a suggestion for the route:

The Ranui tour with the MTB starts at the Waldschenke. It goes along the old Zanser Weg and the Villnösser Bach up to the parking lot Zans. Keep left here and take the toboggan run up to the Gampenalm. From the alpine pasture on forest road no. 35 and 6 down to the Zanseralm. Follow the brook for a while, then turn left onto trail 33B, later on forest trail 34. Follow this up to the Geisleralm. Return on trail 34 to the crossing with 34A. Turn left down this path to the Broglesbach. Continue on trail 28 and return to Waldschenke.

    Duration 3:00 hours, distance 21km

    Snow hiking and sledding

Also in winter, you can do many outdoor activities. An incredible view of the Dolomites and the beautiful idyll of the Alps in a white winter coat is included.

Due to the sporting activities, the cold does not bother you and if it should get too cold after all, a warm drink or a tasty meal is waiting for you.
